Star Wars: A Galaxy At War is a play-by-post, text-based roleplaying game set in the Star Wars universe. There are no dice or statistics such as "damage" or "hit points"—instead, the site is about imagination, creative writing, and creative freedom. The portrayal of the planet Brentaal in this Wiki is based on the Star Wars storyline ("canon") and also original ("non-canon") characters and events from A Galaxy At War, which takes place in the "expanded universe" between the films Episode III: Revenge of the Sith and Episode IV: A New Hope.

"It is ten years before the fateful Battle of Yavin, and the GALACTIC EMPIRE rules the galaxy through fear. Under the direction of Emperor Palpatine and his sinister agents, the Empire silences all who dare to oppose it and pursues the remaining JEDI KNIGHTS to the farthest reaches of the galaxy. These Jedi, and the IMPERIAL SENATE, are the last remnants of the Old Republic.
- The Rebel Alliance has not yet been formed, but the Emperor's rule has not gone unchallenged. Small, determined resistance groups fight against the Empire, some with the secret support of Imperial senators, even as the Empire does battle with the few, stubborn SEPARATISTS who have not accepted defeat. For the Separatists, the CLONE WARS have not yet ended, and for the fledgling rebels, a new war is just beginning...
